There is a very good wikipedia page HERE which explains the history of the Mercedes-Benz company and gives a lot of useful info, so I wont repeat it here.

My Mercedes
I used toown a 1993 Mercedes 190E
It was a 2.0 Petrol, Automatic, 190E with Power steering, All electric windows and Electric sunroof.
It really was a very smooth drive. I was very impressed with the comfort level, and performance, even with
the automatic gearbox is not bad at all. For looks, my car had a Zender body kit :).
I was pleasently surprised with the handling of the car. I fully expected it to be nice & comfortable,
but to have poor handling & wallow around a bit in the corners. However, it was very smooth & comfortable
but also handled very very well. I was surprised by this, as I'd expected either great handling and a very harsh and
uncomfortable ride, or the complete opposite, being very poor handling but a comfortable ride. This 190 broke the rules.
I read recently that the 190 suspension was a great technical achievement, and I now agree :)
